Soaps created by A Touch of Eden are cold processed and each bar is uniquely created using quality ingredients. In cold process soaps, sodium hydroxide is joined with oils or fats and changed during a process called saponification. No sodium hydroxide is found in the end result and all that remains is a wonderfully, mild cleansing soap.
You will find a complete list of ingredients for each soap on our website as well as on our labels. This is to help you choose what works best for you. Our soaps are made with a base of vegetable oils including olive oil, coconut oil and sustainable palm oil. Occasionally we have some soap bars that are made with animals fats such as lard or tallow. We often add skin loving oils like apricot kernel, avocado, or almond as well as specialty butters like mango, shea or cocoa. Goat milk, fresh from our local dairy, is added to our soaps. Botanicals such as herbs, flowers, clays, oatmeal, pumice, mica, pigment or oxides are added for color and texture. When essential oils are added to our soaps for scent you will see them listed by name on our ingredient panel. When "fragrance" is listed it will be a proprietary blend from a reputable supplier. Fragrances are usually trademarked by the company or perfumer.
A Touch of Eden's handcrafted artisan soaps have no additional preservatives or hardeners. To extend the life of your soap place it in soap dish that drains so it can dry between uses.
