DNA Helix Swirl Challenge

Challenge Time! Thank you again goes to Amy Warden of Great Cake Soapworks for this challenge, a variation of a Taiwan Swirl. This could be done in either a log mold or a slab mold. A chopstick (or similar tool) is used to cross over perpendicular stripes of color in "s' patterns to create the swirl. For this challenge I had some time to try this swirl in both the log mold and the slab mold. To submit a photo for this soap it must be in the mold, rather than cut into bars.

As always our soaps are all made with goat milk from Hickory Knoll Farm's Creamery!

First the stripes of color are placed on the top of the soaps
Then using the chopstick a taiwan swirl is created.

And then the chopstick is used to create the "S" curves for the helix swirl.
Citrus Blues, a blend of lemongrass, peppermint and orange essential oils.
The blue and green mica faded as it cured, so the effect is softer than intended.

Shades of Gray and Dirty Blonde
Shades of Gray, scented with 50 Shades fragrance oil.
Dirty Blonde has beer added along with the goat milk and scented with Blood Orange essential oil with a hint of Cedarwood essential oil.

Flannel Sheets and Green Irish Tweed fragrances.
The last two Helix Swirls were done in a slab mold.
Flannel Sheets is a popular scent and each time the design is different.
For the Irish Tweed soap I infused spinach powder in olive oil and used that for the base along with some spirulina to get a green hue with a tweed? effect.

Which version is your favorite DNA Helix Swirl???
Irish Tweed got my vote (and I was helped by a few friends) but Flannel Sheets was my 2nd choice.

Can't go wrong with the rainbows!! :) I do love the swirls inside your log shaped soaps too - they all turned out beautifully!! Excellent work!
