July Challenge - Embracing Opposites!

Great Cakes Soap Challenge for the month of July... Embracing Opposites!  The idea is to start with a regular log mold, place a horizontal divider in to it and create a soap that will show "opposites" on each side of the divider. This could be done by using opposite colors on opposing sides of a color wheel or theme bases like hot or cold, black or white. And thank you Amy for the challenges... keeps us on our toes to continue creating!

I posted a note out on my personal Facebook page for some ideas and got some interesting ones! Sweet and Spicy, Naughty and Nice, Batman and Superman, there were several friends who posted the rivalry of MSU or U of M but I found I was out of green mica.... not sure if that is good or bad (there's an opposite!).

I knew I was going to be short on time. Seems my summer is breezing past too fast. I did two batches in between some restocks that really needed to be made for markets. Unfortunately, I had way too much going on in my head and in my kitchen that I forgot to take photos until I had both soaps in the molds. Then I was getting ready for a market when I cut the orange and blue one... yep, forgot to get a photo of it on the cutter. Life gets moving too fast sometimes...

The first batch was the easy choice was a boy or girl soap. In August, my daughter's family is expecting a new baby girl to join them. Early in 2016 my son and his wife will be expecting their first child. But we don't know if that one will be a boy or girl so.....

The color choices were easy - blue and pink. Decided on Brambleberry's 1982 Blue mica and their Electric Bubble Gum and a bit of white to use as a drop swirl for some interest with a little glitter on the top. The scent was Elements Flowerbomb. And yes, I took a chance that it would not become soap on a stick considering it was a floral, but it soaped up quite nicely.

Next up I decided to go for an opposite on the color wheel, Orange and Blue and add another drop swirl splash with a bit of black and white. The colors used were Brambleberry's Tangerine Wow and Ultramarine Blue with activated charcoal and titanium dioxide. I recently ordered some gingergrass essential oil. I have never used this one before. I blended it with some lemongrass and just a bit of patchouli to anchor and deepen. I am pleasantly surprised at how well I like this blend!

So there you have my choices for the Embracing Opposite Challenge.... now which do I choose?????
